It was the afternoon before Thanksgiving when a father and his sons visited us at the beach. The very proud dad had commissioned me to photograph the three of them for their custom portrait painting. At that time of year, the sun had traveled to the north and the highlights and shadows on their faces were striking.
I loved painting the dramatic lighting patterns in this custom portrait to give the painting dimension and bring it to life. And they loved the way the portrait painting captured their strong and beautiful father and sons relationship.
