Project Description

I adore the portrait study in black and white of this little guy. He always reminds me of the Raphael cherubs. His mom took the reference photo for this watercolor painting while he was absorbed in a TV program. That is a terrific way to catch a natural expression on a child, or actually anyone. He always reminds me of Raphael’s cherubs, painted at the bottom of the Sistine Madonna. I think the classic feeling of black and white portrait studies also have that timeless appeal. Each of my portraits takes on a life of its own. It feels magical!
