Project Description
This portrait painting of 3 young sisters always brings me tremendous joy with their lovely energy. They have a loving bond between them. I painted the sisters’ portrait in 2007. You can see that the photo I was referencing was underexposed, very dark, and tightly cropped. Fortunately, their mother had sent additional photos showing their glowing peaches and cream skin color. I wanted to make a better composition and a more colorful portrait painting of 3 sisters. So I extended the girls at the bottom edge and painted their outfits with strong warm colors. The yellow tones in the their dresses always uplift me.
