Real Party Animals!

Hang in there, everyone!

Even though these 4 party animals have to stay home again this year, I thought it would be fun to dress them up for New Year’s Eve.

I painted their original “Portrait of 4 Cats,” in 2014, and it always makes me smile. Hoping they give you a chuckle and that you’ll share this post with friends and family.

I send my best wishes to you and your family for a Healthy and Happy 2022.

I’m grateful for your support of my art this year. Whether you’ve read and passed on my posts or ordered a custom portrait, thank you for putting your trust in me.

In these unsettling times, I feel blessed that my portraits of loved ones bring comfort.

Please contact me if I can be of any help to you … perhaps with a surprise gift to brighten someone’s life this coming year.

Here is the story of how I painted their original portrait.

Dear Nomi,

I love my cats, but they are impossible to get together for a photograph. You’ve heard the old saying, “like herding cats!” I don’t have a camera anymore—these pics came from my iPhone 🙂

Thanks,
Bryna

Always up for a challenge, I herded my client’s iPhone photos of her cats and made a preliminary drawing in preparation for their portrait painting. My concept was to pose Socks, Morris, Midnight, and Lucky all cuddled up and sitting on something soft. I painted a cushion and a tufted backdrop using the colors of their eyes.

This portrait was really fun for me … the little cuties cracked me up the whole time I was painting! I half expected them to jump off my monitor and land in my lap at any moment, but they sat very quietly and politely for their portrait painting. Herding cats? Difficult! Herding photos of cats? No problem!

Dear Nomi,
The painting is fabulous … my babies look so cute! I love it! Taking it for framing today. I’d like to order greeting cards from you too.

Thanks,
Bryna
